Fossil Fuel Air Pollution Kills Twice As Many As Previously Thought, Study Finds

An estimated 8.7 million people died prematurely in 2018 as a result of air pollution from fossil fuels, roughly twice as many as previously thought. The new figure compares with an estimated 9.5 million cancer-related deaths the same year.
