Lawmakers ask GAO to examine predictive modeling for infectious disease tracking

A group of lawmakers are asking the Government Accountability Office to take a closer look at how federal agencies used predictive modeling to track public health threats including Zika, influenza and SARS, and what challenges prevent the broader use of predictive models to plan for outbreaks.
