10 top-paying cities for cardiologists

Cincinnati is  the highest-paying metropolitan area for cardiologists, according to 2024 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, published April 2.

The bureau released updated compensation data to reflect May 2024 information, the latest available. 

Here are the ten highest-paying metropolitan areas for cardiologists, along with their average annual mean wage:

1. Cincinnati – $506,180
2. Chattanooga, Tenn. – $496,510
3. Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, Fla.  – $484,270
4. Omaha, Neb. – $482,300
5. Chicago – $470,560
6. Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Fla.  – $467,550
7. (tie) Grand Rapids, Wy. and Kentwood, Mich. – $458,880
8. Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia, N.C.-S.C. – $448,040
9. Syracuse, N.Y. – $441,670
10. Augusta-Richmond County, Ga./S.C – $429,400
