Here are three healthcare organizations that have been gaining momentum in the ASC acquisition and development space since Jan. 1, as reported by Becker’s.
1. AmSurg: Nashville, Tenn.-based AmSurg recently acquired Pinnacle Surgery Center in Covington, La. The 8,787-square-foot center features three operating rooms and one procedure room. The practice employs 17 physicians who specialize in spine procedures, pain management and eye procedures. AmSurg is one of the largest ASC companies in the U.S., with a network of more than 250 surgery centers across 34 states.
2. Sutter Health: Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health has been bolstering its ASC strategy in recent months. The health system currently operates 36 ASCs, but that number is set to grow. Sutter Health plans to convert a 60,000-square-foot office building into an ASC and specialty clinic space. The system also plans to construct a flagship campus in Emeryville, Calif., which will feature an ambulatory care complex and a 200-bed medical center. It also recently unveiled plans for its new 120,000-square-foot Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Care Complex in Sacramento.
3. Compass Surgical Partners: Compass Surgical Partners partnered with the Orthopaedic Institute of North Texas and Lam Vascular & Associates to operate a new ASC in Frisco, Texas. Compass also recently opened the NYC Joint & Spine Center in Englewood, N.J.
