1. On June 18, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost gave conditional approval for venture capital firm General Catalyst to acquire Akron-based Summa Health.
The move follows a $485 million definitive agreement reached in November, under which Summa would join Health Assurance Transformation Corp., a General Catalyst subsidiary, and transition into a for-profit system.

2. On June 10, Cincinnati-based TriHealth signed an agreement to acquire Clinton Memorial Hospital, a 140-bed facility located in Wilmington, Ohio.
The acquisition aims to enhance healthcare access and care coordination in Clinton County. 3. The University of Mississippi Medical Center, based in Jackson, announced it has completed its acquisition of Merit Health Madison, a 67-bed hospital in Canton, Miss.
The facility will now operate as UMMC Madison following the purchase from a subsidiary of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems.
The acquisition formalizes a relationship that began in 2019, when UMMC physicians started performing procedures at the hospital. It strengthens UMMC’s presence in the region and its commitment to expanding access to academic medical care.
