These factors are pushing ASCs to enter new partnerships and adopt innovative staffing models to maintain high-quality, uninterrupted care.
Here are five ASC-anesthesia deals shaping the industry in 2025.
1. Steindler Orthopedics, based in Iowa City, Iowa, partnered with Physicians’ Anesthesia Care of Iowa City to staff its newly opened ASC in North Liberty. This partnership brings specialized anesthesia services to the new surgical facility, enhancing its capabilities in orthopedic procedures.
2. North American Partners in Anesthesia has been selected to provide anesthesia services for Fayetteville (N.C.) Ambulatory Surgery Center. Beginning May 1, NAPA will serve as the ASC’s official anesthesia provider, furthering its footprint in the Southeast.
3. Sycamore Pain & Wellness, a division of Lewisville, Texas-based Horizon Health, has entered into a strategic partnership with Terre Haute (Ind.) Surgical Center. Following a recent agreement with Capital Pain Institute of Austin, Texas, SPW will now offer interventional pain management procedures at the ASC, expanding its service line into a new market.
4. Columbus, Ohio-based Taylor Station Surgery Center has partnered with Premier Anesthesia to enhance staffing and operational efficiency. The agreement includes the implementation of an updated scheduling model and a revised compensation package aimed at improving recruitment and retention of anesthesia professionals at the ASC.
5. NorthStar Anesthesia, headquartered in Irving, Texas, has begun providing anesthesia care and management services at Skyline Surgery Center in Pocatello, Idaho. The partnership, which launched on Jan. 2, marks another strategic expansion for NorthStar into the Northwest.
