- Nineteen states and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit against the federal government May 5 aiming to block the Trump administration’s large-scale restructuring of HHS.
- The Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department issued a joint letter May 5 directing federal government agency leaders to develop a list of anticompetitive regulations that lessen competition, entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita formally opposed a proposed merger between Terre Haute’s only two hospitals, warning that the consolidation would create a “regional monopoly” and harm competition, care access and affordability in the Wabash Valley.
- A bipartisan bill in the Indiana state legislature banning noncompete agreements for physicians is moving toward being passed into law.
