1. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local Union 30 filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board to become the union representation for a group of workers at Allegheny Health Network’s United Physicians’ office in New Kensington, Pa.
2. Two physicians allege retaliation from their employer, Cleveland-based University Hospitals, for attempting to organize fellow UH physicians.
3. Healthcare workers at Methuen- and Haverhill, Mass.-based Holy Family Hospital voted to unionize June 11.
4. A New Mexico judge sided with the state labor board, ruling that University of New Mexico Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho violated union bargaining rights regarding a proposed 2023 layoff.
5. Members of the National Union of Healthcare Workers launched an open-ended strike June 18 at Oakland, Calif.-based UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and its satellite clinics.
6. On June 12, members of District 1199 Service Employees International Union New England began a 30-hour sit-in outside Providence, R.I.-based Care New England headquarters amid a labor strike at CNE’s Butler Hospital.
7. Members of SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic Hospital Methodist Campus ratified a new three-year labor contract.
8. Primary care physicians at Boston-based Mass General Brigham’s Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women’s hospitals voted to unionize June 2.
