Here are 10 health systems that have partnered or merged together since the beginning of 2025:
1. Two Bristol, Tenn.-based physician groups, Appalachian Orthopedics and Highlands Neurosurgery, partnered and joined Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tenn. The partnership, which went into effect June 1, brings together 17 physicians.
2. Jackson-based Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center said it plans to add Oxford (Miss.) Ortho & Sports Medicine and the Orthopaedic Institute of North Mississippi in Tupelo under its brand on Aug. 4. The new partnership will form the largest network of orthopedic specialists in the state.
3. Jackson, Wyo.-based system St. John’s Health has become a majority owner of Teton Sports & Spine Imaging, also based in Jackson.
4. Houston Healthcare, a community health system based in Warner Robins, Ga., became part of Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare June 1.
5. West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health has signed a letter of intent to acquire Sioux City, Iowa-based MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center. The deal includes all of Siouxland Medical Center’s facilities, including the hospital, physician practices and home care services.
6. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health and Danbury, Conn.-based Nuvance Health have officially merged, forming an integrated regional health system that spans from New York City to western Connecticut.
7. Berlin, Md.-based Atlantic General Hospital signed a definitive agreement to merge with Salisbury, Md.-based TidalHealth. Atlantic General and TidalHealth will follow a structured integration plan to ensure a smooth transition.
8. Bend, Ore.-based St. Charles Health System has officially completed an affiliation with The Center Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Care, also in Bend.
9. Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health has affiliated with Supply, N.C.-based Leighton Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
10. New York City-based NYU Langone Health and NYU Langone Orthopedics acquired Rothman Orthopaedics of Greater New York.
