Shirin Hassan, PhD, is a research manager at Endeavor Health, one of Illinois’ largest healthcare systems, where she provides administrative leadership for radiology research and National Institutes of Health grant oversight. With a background that spans scientific discovery and clinical research operations, Dr. Hassan is helping drive innovation through effective research infrastructure and financial strategy.
For Dr. Hassan, leadership means connecting the dots between disciplines.
“You need to speak the language of science, finance and strategy to make innovation scalable,” she said.
She applies this philosophy in her work managing clinical trial operations — from feasibility assessments and budgeting to multi-site collaboration and compliance reporting.
Prior to joining Endeavor Health, Dr. Hassan conducted biochemical and translational research in hematology and burn care at Loyola University and Northwestern University. She holds a master’s and PhD in biochemistry and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Originally from Delhi, India, she is passionate about healthcare access, particularly in the face of hospital closures and rising operational costs. Dr. Hassan closely follows trends in predictive analytics, personalized medicine and AI integration, and is a strong advocate for equipping healthcare leaders with the financial and scientific literacy needed to navigate increasingly complex systems.
