Angie Jiménez is CEO and administrator of Puerto Rico ASC Holding Company, where she oversees a growing network of ASCs with a mission grounded in quality, innovation and patient-centered care. With more than 15 years of experience in healthcare leadership, Ms. Jiménez began her career as an ophthalmic technician and clinical instructor before rising into executive management.
Ms. Jiménez believes effective leadership in healthcare requires both humility and bold vision.
“You have to listen deeply and move decisively. Innovation is only sustainable when paired with cultural and operational alignment,” she said. That mindset has helped her lead one of the most ambitious ASC growth strategies in Puerto Rico to date.
Under her direction, the organization operates three high-performing centers: VISTA, an ophthalmic ASC with four operating rooms and 11,000 annual cases; CALMA, a growing multispecialty facility; and Kawas ASC, the island’s first and only ambulatory total joint replacement center, which has completed over 1,600 cases. Across these sites, she manages a team of 100 surgeons, 10 anesthesiologists and more than 100 staff members.
Ms. Jiménez holds two master’s degrees — one in health services administration and another in public health education — from the University of Puerto Rico, along with executive training from the Guayacán Venture Accelerator. She is currently leading efforts to open a fourth center, expand into cardiovascular and spine specialties, and position Puerto Rico as a destination for medical tourism through partnerships with the Medical Tourism Association and Mastercard.Angie Jiménez is speaking at Becker’s 31st Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, set for Oct. 16-18 at the Swissotel Chicago.
