California health system, physician clinics to pay nearly $8.9M to settle COVID-19 loan fraud allegations

Sacramento, Calif.-based Carson Tahoe Health System — along with its affiliates Carson Tahoe Physician Clinics and Carson Tahoe Continuing Care Hospital — agreed to pay nearly $8.9 million to resolve allegations that it improperly obtained Paycheck Protection Program loans, according to a March 24 news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
