The first confirmed case, an asymptomatic individual, was recorded after the prime minister declared that “keeping our borders closed indefinitely was no longer a viable option.”
The recent announcements from states underscore a transition to a “stage where we’re allowing people to make more individual choices,” one public health expert said.
So-called “joints for jabs” and similar campaigns have been around for months, with cannabis activist groups and dispensaries offering joints for vaccines. Now, a state itself is promoting the idea.
“I don’t think we were expecting to find many ticks, but we did, and we found heaps of ticks in big numbers. And they’re infected with diseases,” the study’s lead author said.
