The Oregon Nurses Association has asked the Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt to investigate Providence for alleged ongoing wage theft against front-line nurses and other healthcare workers. 

The following hospitals and health systems have announced or shared plans for raising workers’ pay in November:

Members of the Maine State Nurses Association have approved a new contract with Millinocket (Maine) Regional Hospital that includes raises.

Members of the Massachusetts Nurses Association have approved a new contract with Milford (Mass.) Regional Medical Center that includes raises.  

Measures that would establish a $25 minimum hourly wage for workers at private healthcare facilities went before voters in two California cities, with one poised for approval and the other for rejection, Kaiser Health News reported Nov. 17.

Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health is offering $30,000 signing bonuses for night shift nurses in an attempt to attract more prospective workers, the Gazette reported Nov. 16.

As more than 21,000 of its nurses in Northern California plan to strike for two days, Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente said it has put an offer on the table, which includes 21.25 percent in wage increases over four years.

Mount Sinai Health System is based in New York City, which subjects it to the city’s new salary transparency law. The health system has updated its job postings to comply — and its pay ranges are particularly broad, The Wall Street Journal reported Nov…
