The average weekly travel nurse pay in October in the U.S. was $3,080, down 18.82 percent from $3,794 during the same month in 2021, according to a report from Vivian Health, a national healthcare hiring marketplace.    

The average hourly pay for registered nurses in the U.S. is $39.78,  according to the most recent U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics occupational employment statistics survey. Wages and living costs vary from place to place, however.

Members of the New York State Nurses Association have approved a new contract with Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center that boosts nurse wages.

Businesses with at least one New York City-based worker will be required by law to add salary ranges to their job postings, effective Nov. 1, The New York Times reported.

Nurses working in hospitals owned and operated by Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health have approved new contracts that include significant wage increases, according to hospital and union statements shared with Becker’s.

Members of the Washington State Nurses Association have approved a new contract with Seattle-based UW Medicine that includes significant raises, The Seattle Times reported Oct. 20.

New York will provide pay increases for more than 6,500 nurses across over 15 state agencies, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Oct. 14.
