Portland, Ore.-based nonprofit digital healthcare innovation group OCHIN, Inc. said 10 healthcare organizations began using its OCHIN Epic EHR in the second quarter of 2024.
UPMC announced in September 2023 the system would transition its nine separate EHRs into one instance of Epic, a gigantic project involving more than 600 IT technicians and 1,200 clinical leaders to transfer 6 million patient records.
On July 1, MultiCare implemented fees for MyChart messages, joining a growing number of health systems aiming to manage the increasing volume of patient communications.
Health systems spend millions of dollars in EHRs and applications to leverage the platform’s full potential. As companies add artificial intelligence, ambient listening and more, what will EHRs be able to do a decade from today?
Epic and Oracle Health made waves in the first half of 2024 by incorporating artificial intelligence further into their offerings and forging strategic partnerships with healthcare organizations and industry alike.
