Mark Flakne has been tapped as CFO of Included Health, a healthcare services company.

Steve Shattls is on administrative leave as president and CEO of Huntington, W.Va.-based Valley Health Systems, the system confirmed to Becker’s via emailed statement.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare has made leadership changes throughout its hospitals this year. The system operates 52 hospitals across the U.S., according to its website.

Lexington, Ky.-based Appalachian Regional Healthcare has appointed two new hospital CEOs.

Drew Talbott, president of Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan., will retire Aug. 30, one day before the hospital transitions to ownership by St. Louis-based Mercy.

Justin Inglett has been appointed CFO of Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, Ga., part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.

JW Newman was named CEO of St. David’s Round Rock (Texas) Medical Center, a 209-bed facility and level 2 trauma center. 

Scott Schissel, MD, PhD, is joining RWJBarnabas Health as chief medical officer of Newark (N.J.) Beth Israel Medical Center, according to an Aug. 7 news release sent to Becker’s. 

Jason Chung, MD, has joined SSM Health as vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at two hospitals in Oklahoma. 

CommonSpirit Health, a Chicago-based system with more than 2,200 care sites in 24 states, has made several executive changes at the market and regional levels and within its hospitals this year.
