Several health systems have announced changes to their leadership ranks in recent months.

Michele Schoonover will retire June 7 as CEO of Vinton, Iowa-based Virginia Gay Hospitals and Clinics, according to an article published on communitynewspapergroup.com.

Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital has named Lijah Lokenauth senior vice president of finance, according to a May 28 post on his LinkedIn page. 

Philip Marchesini was promoted to CEO of HCA Florida Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, effective immediately.

Larry Cohen, the former CEO of Ocean Beach Hospital in Ilwaco, Wash., has come out of retirement to helm the organization in an interim capacity, according to the Chinook Observer. 

Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, has appointed John Duran, MSN, RN, as its next chief nursing officer, the system announced May 17. 

St. Louis-based SSM Health has named its inaugural chief digital officer.

Andrew Gaasch was appointed president for Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health’s Mountain Region, effective May 20.

Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai announced three executive promotions on May 24.

Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, will retire at the end of 2024 from her roles as chief nursing officer of the American Hospital Association and CEO of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
