The University of Kentucky board of trustees has approved plans to proceed with the acquisition of St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, Ky. 

The Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems announced April 18 it entered into a definitive agreement to sell 351-bed Tennova Healthcare-Cleveland (Tenn.) to Hamilton Health Care System in Dalton, Ga., for $160 million in cash. 

Honolulu-based Queen’s Health System plans to complete its acquisition of an 88-bed psychiatric hospital from Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health later this year. 

Tri-City Healthcare District in Oceanside, Calif., and UC San Diego Health are still working on plans for a joint power agreement that was expected to be completed by the end of March, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported April 21.

In two separate deals, Labcorp completed acquisitions of outreach laboratory businesses from Renton, Wash.-based Providence and Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health.

Rome, Ga.-based Harbin Clinic, a private physician group, has joined Rome, Ga.-based Atrium Health Floyd, a health system part of Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health.

Medical Properties Trust, one of the world’s largest hospital real estate owners, has offloaded five Dallas-based Steward Health Care-operated Utah hospitals for around $1.1 billion in total cash proceeds.

Bay Shore, N.Y.-based NeuroCare Long Island, a four-person neurosurgeon group, is now part of New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health and will perform surgeries at Bay Shore-based South Shore University Hospital.
