Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Northside Hospital Healthcare System has opened a new ASC in Canton, Ga., according to an Oct. 18 report from the Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News. 

Wayne, N.J.-based Elite Surgical Center completed its 300th robotic total joint replacement procedure Oct. 8.

Here are four new orthopedics-focused ASCs that are now in development or have opened in the last month, as reported by Becker’s since July 22:

Healthgrades released its rankings for the best hospitals in the U.S. for outpatient joint replacements, including seven in Texas.

Constitution Surgery Alliance’s portfolio of ASCs has collectively surpassed 12,000 total joint replacements, the company said Aug. 7.

New ASCs are key opportunities for Stryker’s orthopedic growth, CEO Kevin Lobo said in a July 30 second quarter earnings call.

The landscape of total joint replacement procedures is changing, and ASCs are increasingly looking to these procedures for growth. 

Healthgrades recently released its rankings for the best hospitals in the U.S. for outpatient joint replacements, including eight in California. 

The annual earnings among orthopedic surgeons in the U.S. can vary by up to $426,640, depending on the city one practices in, according to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics employment survey.

Total joint replacements are becoming more common in the outpatient surgery center as technology advances, pain management improves and organizations build an infrastructure around recovering at home.
