Florida chiropractor sues consultant, alleges fraud

Chiropractor Michael Lea and his company have filed a lawsuit against Multidisciplinary Business Applications, doing business as Concierge Coaches, alleging fraud and breach of contract, according to a May 11 report from the Florida Record

What happened?

  • Filed on April 23 in Palm Beach County, Fla., the suit alleges Mr. Lea was misled into a consulting agreement with promises of major financial growth and assurances that the firm was a leader in spinal disc treatment.
  • Based on these claims, Mr. Lea signed a three-year agreement on July 10, 2023, which included services like business management, recruitment support and training. He agreed to pay a $2,500 initiation fee and $1,600 monthly thereafter.
  • The lawsuit alleges MBA failed to deliver key services, such as on-site visits and business plans and steered the practice toward preferred vendors who allegedly paid undisclosed kickbacks.
  • After implementing MBA’s marketing strategies, Mr. Lea’s revenue reportedly declined, leading him to claim the firm prioritized its own interests over his practice’s success.
