‘Hospital-at-home’ trend means family members must be caregivers – ready or not

Howard Girard got hospital-at-home care for covid, COPD and congestive heart failure. Though he has since died, his daughter Lori says it likely extended his life and helped him enjoy himself.

It’s taking off around the country: Treatment at home for patients sick enough to be in a hospital, but stable enough to be home. Are family caregivers ready for all the responsibility?
