Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola Medicine has tapped Dejan Micic, MD, as division chief of gastroenterology.
In his new role, Dr. Micic will oversee the division’s clinical, research and educational initiatives. He will also continue his clinical practice at Loyola, according to a May 19 news release.
Prior to joining Loyola Medicine, Dr. Micic served as an associate professor in the section of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the University of Chicago.
He specializes in inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and celiac disease.
Dr. Micic will oversee all operations of the division, work on expanding access to advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, enhance multidisciplinary care for complex digestive diseases and promote innovation in gastroenterological research, according to the release.
