Medtronic has launched an agreement with Dragonfly Endoscopy to distribute its pancreaticobiliary system in the U.S.
The system aims to provide enhanced visualization, maneuverability and diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities for patients undergoing endoscopy for visualization and therapeutic intervention in the bile and pancreatic ducts, according to an April 24 news release.
It also features a flexible and rotational shaft, a 42% larger working channel diameter and 40% larger biopsy samples.
“This collaboration underscores our commitment at Medtronic to leading innovation in gastroenterology, focused not only on patient outcomes but also on clinician satisfaction,” Raj Thomas, president of the Medtronic Endoscopy business, said in the release.
Medtronic will launch the system at its partner academic and clinical centers in 2025. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, according to the release.
