There are currently 50,350 certified registered nurse anesthetists employed in the U.S., according to May 2024 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, published April 2.
While Florida has the most employed CRNAs of any state, the Minneapolis area is the metropolitan area with the most employed CRNAs.
The metropolitan areas with the most employed CRNAs:
1. Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minn.-Wis.: 1,700
2. Detroit-Warren-Dearborn, Mich.: 1,590
3. Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas: 1,530
4. New York-Newark-Jersey City, N.Y.-N.J.: 1,500
5. Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Fla.: 1,130
