Rapid City, S.D.-based Monument Health has broken ground on a free-standing emergency department in Rapid City.
The 16,750-square-foot facility will include full laboratory services, X-ray services, a CT scan, one trauma room, eight emergency exam rooms and two inpatient rooms, according to a May 13 news release from the health system.
The space allows for future expansions to the center with the potential for 20 additional inpatient rooms.
Construction of the facility is expected to be completed in summer 2026, the release said.
