People living in Maryland currently have the fewest yearly out of pocket healthcare costs, while people living in Mississippi face the highest, according to a new report from Wallethub, published May 29.
The financial services platform reviewed where people spend the most of their yearly earnings on healthcare, analyzing the prices of five key healthcare components in all 50 states and comparing these costs alongside median household incomes. Read more about the methodology here.

1. Maryland: 9.03%
2. New Jersey: 9.4%
3. Massachusetts: 10%
4. Connecticut: 10.72%
5. Rhode Island: 10.91%
6. Colorado: 11.14%
7. Virginia: 11.17%
8. New Hampshire: 11.41%
9. California: 11.43%
10. Utah: 11.6%
