North Liberty, Iowa-based Steindler Surgery Center has earned dual accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
With the accreditation, the ASC, which opened its doors March 24, is officially able to serve patients, according to a June 5 news release.
Dual status through AAAHC signifies both Medicare-deemed status and organizational accreditation.
AAAHC accreditation is given to organizations that complete a thorough, independent survey evaluating compliance with over 600 standards, including patient rights, clinical care, infection prevention and governance. Dual status notes that the facility is also open to serve Medicare patients.
Steindler specializes in outpatient orthopedic surgery, including joint replacements, sports medicine, spine surgery, hand-and-foot procedures and image-guided pain management.
The $54.3 million facility includes a 100,000-square-foot clinic, while the ASC houses six operating rooms. Steindler first received a green light for construction on the new ASC in April 2023. Three months later, ground was broken at the facility.
