The best, worst states for nurses 

Washington has been named the best state for nurses, according to a new report from WalletHub released April 29.

The ranking was based on two key dimensions — opportunity and competition, and work environment — evaluated across 20 different metrics. Read more about the methodology here.

  3. Oregon
  4. Arizona
  5. Maine
  6. New Mexico
  7. Massachusetts
  8. Minnesota
  9. Illinois
  10. Connecticut 

The 10 worst states for nurses:

  1. Oklahoma
  2. Alabama
  3. North Dakota
  4. Hawaii
  5. Louisiana
  6. South Dakota
  7. Mississippi
  8. Vermont
  9. Tennessee
  10. Nebraska
