UC Davis Health cuts ribbon on $589M ASC

Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health has cut the ribbon on its 48X Complex, one of the largest outpatient surgery centers in the nation.

The four-story, 268,000-square-foot, $589 million facility will see its first patients July 1, according to a June 25 news release.

The facility is expected to generate 550 new jobs in the area. It features 14 operating rooms, 59 recovery bays, 96 exam rooms, 14 private recovery rooms and 19 clinical treatment rooms.

The first phase of opening will include an extended recovery unit, retail and compounding pharmacies, radiology and imaging, and several operating rooms.

Other clinics, such as orthopedics, urology, neurosurgery and transplant, will open beginning in January 2026.
