Here is what four major anesthesia management groups have been up to in 2025:
NorthStar Anesthesia
Anesthesia services provider NorthStar Anesthesia has more than 4,000 anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists under its banner, and partners with 280 health care clients across 25 states.
1. In June, NorthStar Anesthesia deepened its relationship with AdventHealth, partnering with AdventHealth Ottawa (Kan.). The new partnership will support the reopening of AdventHealth Ottawa’s obstetrics program.
2. In May, NorthStar Anesthesia partnered with Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital North to provide anesthesia services at three TGH North facilities. The anesthesia provider will serve patients at Florida Endoscopy and Surgery Center, TGH Spring Hill Hospital and TGH Brooksville.
3. NorthStar Anesthesia partnered with UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook (Ill.) to provide services at the facility. The partnership launched April 19.
4. In February, NorthStar Anesthesia made several changes to its leadership team, tapping a new president and COO, chief medical officer, chief anesthetist officer, chief quality officer, chief marketing officer and CFO.
5. In January, Irving, Texas-based NorthStar Anesthesia partnered with Pocatello, Idaho-based Skyline Surgery Center.
U.S. Anesthesia Partners
U.S. Anesthesia Partners is a physician-owned anesthesia services group that employs more than 4,500 clinicians across more than 700 facilities nationwide, caring for approximately 2 million cases each year.
In June, U.S. Anesthesia Partners named Kurt Jones, MD, as its chief clinical officer. Dr. Jones has been with USAP for nine years, serving in a variety of capacities.
North American Partners in Anesthesia
NAPA employs 5,000 clinicians who practice at nearly 400 facilities in 23 states.
1. In June, NAPA entered into a partnership with Sentara Health Plans, the health plan division of Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health.
2. In March, NAPA joined with Fayetteville (N.C.) Ambulatory Surgery Center to provide anesthesia services.
3. In March, NAPA expanded its ongoing relationship with Marriottsville, Md.-based Bon Secours. NAPA became the exclusive provider for Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center in Suffolk, Va.
4. In February, NAPA tapped Lee Camp as vice president of business development for its western region.
Premier Anesthesia
Premier Anesthesia is backed by more than 2,600 associates and more than 20,000 clinician providers covering all 50 states.
1. In April, Alpharetta, Ga.-based Premier Anesthesia forged a new partnership with four facilities in Gallipolis, Ohio-based Holzer Health System. The partnership extends to Holzer Gallipolis, Holzer Gallipolis Surgery Center, Holzer Jackson (Ohio) and Holzer Athens (Ohio) Surgery Center.
2. In February, Premier Anesthesia partnered with Columbus, Ohio-based Taylor Station Surgery Center.
