Nearly half of medical office building leases signed in 2024 were done by health systems, according to a March report from commercial real estate company JLL.
As health systems increasingly see the benefit of outpatient care, they have continued to migrate to medical office buildings to provide ambulatory services.

increased 10% for hospitals, according to the report, while inpatient revenue increased just 5%.
Overall, outpatient volumes in the U.S. are expected to grow 10.6% in the next five years, while inpatient volumes will increase just 0.9%.

2. Specialty providers: 31%
3. Other: 9%
