With less access to paid leave, rural workers face hard choices about health, family

With limited paid family leave offered by her job, Ruby B. Sutton,  an environmental engineer at a mining site in northeastern Nevada, decided to stay home with her new baby full time.

Coastal and politically progressive states have passed stronger paid sick and family leave policies than many states with larger rural populations.
