EU Court Tries, But Fails, To Clarify Rules On GMOs And CRISPR

An EU Court just decided that plants edited with CRISPR technology are GMOs, meaning they can be severely restricted for sale in Europe. They carved out a huge exception, possibly without realizing it, but the ruling illustrates why courts should not be trying to define scientific concepts.
