Around 70% of healthcare workers in U.S. hospitals were fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as of September 15, according to the CDC study, with higher rates found among workers in children’s hospitals and urban areas.
The measure has been a flashpoint during the pandemic, but researchers say it’s more effective than handwashing and physical distancing at reducing the incidence of Covid-19.
Though many parents remain hesitant about vaccinating their children ages 5 to 11 against Covid-19, the White House shared encouraging signs for the vaccine rollout to this point.
